Merry Nightmare – Alter Review
Merry is from the manga and anime Yumekui Merry (Dream Eater Merry), which is about Yumeji Fujiwara, a regular student that has the power to see the aura of other people’s dreams. Merry is a charming girl from the dream world and is looking to return home.
This version of Merry is form Alter and is of 1/8 scale and she’s fantastic – enchantingly eye catching and so superbly vivid.
The sculpt is awesome and even though the pose is lively and full of motion nothing is lost. They have successfully managed to capture the moment superbly and all the details match her motion. Her cool jacket looks great from all angles and the way it’s opening more at the front is brilliant. Due to that you can see the sculpt of her physique better and admire her lovely shape. Unlike other figures it really does look like she is wearing the jacket as none of it looks flat and the same goes for her skirt and top. The crinkle details on the jacket are also something to take note of as they look natural and flow wonderfully well with the shading and motion. However stands are needed to support the jackets tails and using them is advised, they are weighty.
Merry’s top is cute and lifts from her body offering a peek at under boob which looks perfect. The straps slightly lift from her body appearing masterful. Her skirt is equally impressive and it’s nice how it’s not physically stuck to her body, heightening the natural quality of the clothing so far. Merry’s thigh highs are delightful and pinch her skin nicely at the top, the loose bottoms are also nice and look good bunching up and hiding parts of her shoes. Her hat comes loose and without a magnet which is slightly disappointing but it’s a good fit and you can display her without it.
Her hands are terrific and even her fingernails look good, they draw attention to her smooth looking skin and body in general. The sculpt of her anatomy is excellent and of course we cannot forget that magnificent midriff of hers. Her clavicle, knee’s and elbows are also a pleasing shape and her bottom is pleasant. The pose works well and hides her panties but shows off her nice thighs and stomach.
The paint work is sharp and flows superbly with the sculpt. However her thigh highs are a bit messy in places and her skirt could cause transfer onto her body. The gradient on her hair easily makes up for these issues and the crisp quality of everything else. The shading on her jacket and skirt really enhances all the sculpting details and the same goes for her anatomy. It really is impressive the attention to detail and how well everything works together.
Her panties match her thigh highs and this is marvellous as it fits the flow well, the crinkle detail and shape of her bottom is only made better by the paint work. Merry’s shoes are shining and matches the shine on the base. The base is outstanding and just as eye catching as the vivacious Merry.
Her facial expression matches her character and pose superbly, they’ve done a fantastic job and she really looks like Merry. The detail is beautiful, super adorable fang and very pretty eyes and her hair is position so well around – it allows a peek at her pointy ears and eyebrows. Merry is overflowing with energy already because of the pose but her facial expression completes it.
Merry is not only really cute but is complete with fiery pose, awesome base and she resembles anime Merry fantastically. What do you think will this figure be leaping onto your shelves? Please leave us a comment in the section below.

This is one cool figure! I especially like her hair – not cheap though.
The price tag is a bit steep but she’s a very beautiful figure and really fun to shoot.
