Instead of having a full blown E3 conference this year Nintendo opted for quite a small scale Nintendo Direct to show off some of their new and upcoming titles and we were treated to quite a few surprises.
One of the highlights was the reveal of a new Super Smash Bros title that will be released for both the Nintendo Wii U and 3DS in 2014. Another notable announcement was a new Super Mario World title that contains plenty of new ‘cat’ power-ups and all new 4 player co-op within a 3D Mario title for the first time. Check out our full list of what Nintendo showed off and revealed during their E3 Nintendo Direct below:
- Pokemon X and Y
- Super Smash Bros
- Super Mario 3D World
- Legend of Zelda Wind Waker HD
- Bayonetta 2
- Mariokart 8
- Wonderful 101
- Wii U Party
- Donkey Kong Country Wii U
Nintendo seem to be quite confident in the Wii U despite its currently lacking games library but by the looks of this it will likely surprise us in 2014 and on the run up to Christmas. It will be interesting to see how the consoles will handle each other once the festive period comes around. Its a shame we didn’t see more from previously unveiled 3DS games like Shin Megami Tensei IV but we will certainly be treated to more details in the near future.
