If you want to know more about Hyper Japan or the shop visit their site here: www.hyperjapan.co.uk
Since the popularity of Hyper Japan exploded in July 2013 – quite literally people could not fit in the hall! So they have take the best merchandise from their events and have showcased it in a modest stall in the heart of multicultural London, Camden stables market.
Situated next to one of the brass horse head busts next to the stairs, they have found an ideal location to sell their Japanese fashion and anime merchandise and spread the word of the convention to a wider audience. Brands included: Genki Gear, Kyari Pamyu pamyu merchandise, Alpaca’s from Love Jojo, Geisha Wigs.
Me and a few other fans including Himezawa traveled to north London to see the stall and watch the Tokyo x Bougeois fashion show hosted by Hyper Japan shop and Yusuke D Maria. Starting at 2pm we were offered complimentary sake or beer and we were invited to take fashion shoots in front of the Hyper Japan back drop, welcome to have our makeup done for a nominal fee of £3 and Yusuke would take our photos for his blog.
When the show started, the concept was for the models to wear a set of matching themed outfits, walk to famous locations in the market and pose. We were invited to follow and take part in the experience. My favourite piece on show was the My Little Pony Jacket – a denim jacket with ponies sewn on to make a real 80′s throw back piece.
